Item Details
An antique Victorian Renaissance Revival oak fall-front secretary, circa late 19th century. The secretary features a rectangular top over molded cornice and Northwind mask and acanthus carved frieze flanked by lion masks. The fall-front features a carved panel with a mask framed by a wreath and stylized floral and vegetal motifs, as well as a dark metal escutcheon with key. It opens to an interior with a shelf, two drawers, and two pigeon holes. Below are two cabinet doors with carved panels and dark metal escutcheons and strap hinges. The cabinet doors open to a storage space with one shelf. It rests on a molded plinth base. There are no visible maker’s marks.
