A sensational and large original oil painting by listed artist Clarence Francis Busch (American, 1887-1946), titled ‘View Through Veil, or Lace Curtain,’ seemingly a sketch, depicts three nude women drying themselves with towels. Pastel colors compose this serene but provocative work with light powder blue background and subjects’ bodies in creamy pale pink. Signed in the lower right. Painting is presented in gilt wooden frame with highly textured relief and vinyl-covered wire attached to back for hanging.
Condition
Good to fair. Canvas has impression with small tear at standing figure’s bicep (approximately an inch) and below her left foot (approximately a quarter-inch). Tear to backing. Recommend personal assessment at preview for best sense of condition.
