Antique Egyptian Green Scarab

Item Details

An antique Egyptian ‘heart’ scarab carved from green agate. The scarab has hieroglyphic text on the reverse containing spell 30B from the Book of the Dead.

Collected in the late 19th and early 20th century and donated to a Private Midwestern Institution in 1938
Sold to enhance and preserve the Institution’s mission-relevant Collections

Condition

generally good, chip to corner of base.
