Antique Tibetan Phurba Ritual Dagger with Stand

An antique Tibetan triangular-bladed phurba (kīla in Sanskrit) ritual dagger in a triangular base. The pommel of the handle features the faces of the three phurba deities. Included is a triangular lotus base also decorated with three heads. The faces of the blades are embellished with stylized beast motifs. 1938.0348 A & B

Collected in the late 19th and early 20th century and donated to a Private Midwestern Institution in 1938
Sold to enhance and preserve the Institution’s mission-relevant Collections

Condition

- appears to be missing finial; wear to blade where it enters the base.
