Steinway Concert Grand Piano
Item Details
Steinway and Sons grand piano, traditional style, ebony, Model ‘D,’ serial number 420860. This piano was manufactured in New York 1970-71. It was placed in Concert & Artist service inventory as CD-321, which is the number it still bears on the piano plate. A 2010 assessment (available for review) by ‘Premier Pianos’ has the following comments. The piano is all original in very good condition with normal expected wear. The soundboard, ribs and structure show no cracks or unusual wear. The original Steinway hammers are still in place, the original capped, vertically laminated maple bridges are in good shape while the bridge pins are solid and the bearing is good. The pedals all operate and function correctly. The piano is in fine condition, tuning-wise and has been well maintained. The instrument is sound and has much life left.
