Ornate Compote on Dragon Pedestal

Item Details

An ornate ceramic compote dish. This lidded dish features small scenes of a young man and woman in a landscape setting, bordered in gold tone against white and deep blue. The circular column beneath the dish is similarly painted, and ends in a triangular base. The pedestal and dish are braced on three sides by white and gold tone figures resembling Chinese dragons, with their heads on the base and their tails on the underside of the dish. The underside of the dish is stamped ‘Roselle Occ & Co, Staffordshire, England.’
