A Spectacular Kozaburo Takeishi (1879-1964) Bronze Mermaid Vase, Signed

A spectacular Art Nouveau Japanese bronze vase by Kozaburo Yakeishi (1879-1963) from the Niigata Prefecture, signed. The tall, rectangular vase illustrates in low relief an underwater scene with the elegant depiction of a mermaid, fish and plants. The artist’s signature is prominent along the side of the vase.
Kozaburo’s work is scarce and highly sought, he is represented in several Museums of Modern Art in Japan.
