Showa Period Urushi Metalic Faux Bois Kimono

A spectacular Showa period (1926-1989) silk Japanese urushi metallic kimono in a deep forest green having an all over faux bois pattern. The kimono is then dotted with graphic flowers and seed pods, outlined in soft gold and rose gold metallic thread. A noteworthy detail is that the outlined flowers are designed from the back of the bloom with the curled stem remaining. A special kimono indeed as who would recognize the beauty on the back side of a flower blossom? The kimono is lined in pale apricot and beige silk.
Condition
The kimono shows little to no wear, it is in very good condition and has been stored properly folded in a rice paper sleeve.
Dimensions
The measurement of 50" refer to the kimono with the sleeves extended, the length is 61". The shoulder to shoulder measurement is 24"
