A first edition publication of ‘Photographic History of the Civil War’ in ten volumes by Francis Miller. The set was published in New York by The Review of Reviews in 1911. The profusely illustrated volumes cover Volume One – The Opening Battles, Volume Two – Two Years of Grim War, Volume Three – The Decisive Battles, Volume Four – The Cavalry, Volume Five – Forts and Artillery, Volume Six – The Navies, Volume Seven – Prisons and Hospitals,
Volume Eight – Soldiers Life Secret Service, Volume Nine – Poetry and Eloquence of Blue and Gray and Volume Ten – Armies and Leaders. The books are half bound in brown leather with gold gilt stamped titles at the spines.
Note that President William H Taft was a contributor.

Leather at the spines is loose and missing on volume 10
