Life-size Bronze "Lion Qui Marche" Sculpture After A. Barye
Item Details
A life-size architectural bronze lion sculpture after the original by Antoine Louis Bayre (Paris 1796-1875), Signed ‘Bayre 1833’ at the leg. The impressive free standing sculpture ‘walking lion’ is astride in his pose with a full mane and mouth agape. The sculpture has developed a fabulous patina due to being displayed outdoors at the entrance of ‘Narnia’, the home of Cathryn and Carl Hilker. The Hilkers played a strong role in establishing the ‘Cat Ambassador’ program at the Cincinnati Zoo which is dedicated to saving cheetahs from extinction.
- Please be certain to bring adequate help and the appropriate vehicle to transport this large and heavy sculpture.
