An original oil painting on board by renown artist Michael Scott. The whimsical still life illustrates a reclining cheetah on a table top with details such as a map of South Africa on the wall and an open book in the foreground. The relaxed spotted cat wears a serene expression, gazing at the viewer unapologetically. The Painting is from the collection of Cathryn Hilker who has been honored as a ‘Great Living Cincinnatian’ due to her role in saving the wild cheetah from extinction. The painting is framed in a thin natural finish wood frame.
Artist Michael Scott (born 1952) received his bachelor degree from the Kansas City Art Institute and his MFA from the University of Cincinnati in 1978. He has exhibited extensively and his work can been found in prestigious private collections as well as museums to include; The Cincinnati Art Museum, the New Orleans Museum of Art, the JB Speed Museum in KY and the Hunter Museum of Art in TN to name a few. Micheal Scott resides and continues to paint in New Mexico.
