Civil War Era Fire Heated Irons

A collection of Civil War Era fire heated irons. One is a cast iron Down’s & Company clothes iron circa 1840’s to 1860’s. The other is an 1860’s A.C. Williams Company Dual Purpose Iron with three irons and one handle attachment. This iron was used for pressing clothes or wrapped in flannel to warm a bed; thus, the dual purpose title.

Condition

There are some small areas of rust and corrosion.
