EBTH is honored to present the estate of Eugene R. Myers, Ph.D. Gene was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and moved to Cincinnati in 2005 at the age of 79 to be close to family. His talent and interest in art was recognized at an early age. In 1949, he graduated with honors from Carnegie Tech (now Carnegie Mellon University) with a degree in painting. He was a classmate of the famous artist Andy Warhol.
Gene spent most of his working years being a graphic artist designing, illustrating, writing and producing technical and promotional advertising literature for many companies. Gene also designed and created stained glass windows for hospitals, cathedrals and churches. In 1950, one of his former professors from Carnegie Tech hired him to paint an 80 × 20 foot mural on the concave ceiling of the Kanawha County airport in West Virginia. He spent virtually seven days a week for two months on this project.
