Vintage Growler, Milk Bottles and Milk Lids
Item Details
A collection of vintage milk jugs and a glass growler. One is by ‘Meadow Gold,’ one has ‘Liq. 1 QT. Rieck’s Pure Milk & Cream Registered’ in raised print to the jug, and the has ‘Re-usable Refrigerator Bottle’ on the top portion of the bottle. On the bottom of this bottle are the following markings: ‘One Quart’, ‘UGP’, ‘Liquid’ and ‘U-634-02’. The tall glass growler jug which was used for alcoholic beverages and wine making is marked on the underside of the white porcelain lid ‘For Hutter N.Y. Germany’. The aluminum foil lids read ’Reick’s Sealtest Pasteurized Milk’. There are also a few for ‘Meadow Gold Dairies’. The Foil and paper lids have ‘National Dairy Products Corporation, Sealtest, Pasteurized, Homogenized Vitamin D Milk’. The plastic bottle seals all read ‘Vic Agnew Inc. COurt (spelled with the first two letters in capitals) 1-4711.’ These come in a souvenir jar from the ‘Rookwood Pottery’ of Mt. Adams, Ohio. This is a great mixture for anyone who favors and collects vintage jars and jugs!
Condition
Very good condition with the exception of just a couple of scratches, and a few nicks to the porcelain cork, and seal of the tall gowler/jug, the metal is rusted and the cork will not seal, or stay closed . Some of the aluminum foil milk jug lids of course are bent on some edges due to the thin material.
