The three volumes comprising the work entitled ‘The Presidio and Militia on the Northern Frontier of New Spain.’ Volume One covers the years 1570-1700, and was compiled and edited by Thomas H. Naylor and Charles W. Polzer. Published Tucson: The University of Arizona Press, 1986, 756pp, bound in white linen with silver lettering on black ground to front board and spine. Volume Two of this work is in two separate books, Part One (513pp) and Part Two (556pp), covering the years 1700-1765. These were published 1997, same publisher, and edited by Polzer and Thomas E. Sheridan. They are bound in dark blue with gold lettering. A related volume is included in this group, ‘Pedro de Rivera and the Military Regulations for Northern New Spain 1724-1729,’ edited by Naylor and Polzer, and bound in white linen, published 1988, University of Arizona Press, 367pp.
Condition
Volumes bound in white linen have foxing to boards and spine, and have flaking to black fields with lettering. Pencil markings to title page or flyleaf in each volume. Blue bound volumes have light shelfwear. All have dirt to top page edges.

Dimensions of Volume One of the Presidio set. As a group of four, will take up 7.0" of shelf space.
