Restored George L. Brownell Victorian Horse-Drawn Hearse, Circa 1870

Restored 2020/2021 with the installation of new interior curtains and fringe, wood repairs, singletree hookup stops, new handle for driver’s seat, new yoke, fixing and adjusting brake system, replaced wheel seals, greased and rawhide wrapping of wheels; treated and caulked vinyl top, polished all brass fixtures, removed all old paint, primed and painted all wood and steel parts. Used until recently by the gonfalon of the Willey Farm and neighbor Beach Faulker for scores of funerals over a broad range of counties and towns within Bourbon County, Kentucky. Hearse comes with two surcingles, assorted breast collars, martingales, girths, leads and other driving leather components.

- fully restored with some general wear to the wheels and bearings; light paint chipping; light wear to leathers.
