When away from the big screen, Joan calls Chicago home with her husband and two sons, staying busy and wildly creative as proprietor of the curious and delightful shop, Judy Maxwell Home. Named after Barbara Streisand’s character in What’s Up Doc, one of Joan’s favorite movies of all time, the store is the magical manifestation of Joan’s unique taste and extraordinary experiences, with inventory crossing between general store, art gallery and gift shop.

Joan and her team at the shop have curated a beautiful collection of items that reflect the evolution of Judy Maxwell Home since it’s creation in 2012. The store is located in the Old Town neighborhood of Chicago and celebrates the extraordinary in seemingly ordinary objects. Each item in the collection, from hand printed wallpaper samples to furniture featured in House Beautiful to artwork with the addition of Joan’s unique touch, has brought joy to their owners’ lives.
