EBTH is honored to present this fine collection of antique and vintage books. Collected and treasured over the last 40 years, this prized collection of books will be sought after by collectors locally and nationally. It is the lifelong accumulation of a retired professor and historian’s interest in Ohio, Dayton, and Cincinnati history as well as a wide variety of other topics including: the Civil War, art and design, signed first editions and a collection of antique catalogs, books, advertisements and Harper’s Weeklies. Of note are several books by famous African-American poet and friend of the Wright Brothers, Paul Laurence Dunbar (1872 – 1906), a number of period works by and about the influential Cincinnati physician Daniel Drake (1785-1852), historic books and publications from NCR (National Cash Register) in Dayton, Ohio and many other fascinating 19th century books about Cincinnati, Ohio. Also included is an 1872 edition of Picturesque America, 1882 first edition of Life and Times of Jesse and Frank James, 1734 edition of Il Pastor Fido, an 1887 Civil War memoir titled The Boy Spy and many other rarities for collectors and enthusiasts of Ohio history.
