Equestrian season has begun and this EBTH sale embodies the spirit of thoroughbred racing like no other. From an estate nestled in the beautiful Bluegrass region of Lexington, Kentucky we offer racing memorabilia from a family steeped deep in equine training history. John M. Veitch (1945-2023) apprenticed to his father, both are National Museum of Racing Hall of Fame members. John is best known for training at the famed Calumet Farm and recognizing the strength of a chestnut colt named Alydar who finished a close second to Affirmed in all three races of the triple crown in 1978.
Browsing the sale you’ll discover a generous group of sterling silver mint julep cups, framed silver gelatin photographs of winning horses from the late 1940’s with the jockey astride, vintage sterling silver racing trophies, a Black, Starr & Frost platinum ladie’s watch with diamonds and emeralds, a much coveted 1988 Jeep Grand Wagoneer as well as a vintage wooden Great Canadian canoe, fabulous bronzes, Dresden porcelain and so much more.
