EBTH is pleased to present a series of sales from the Sears, Roebuck & Co. corporate art collection which was acquired when Sears moved from the iconic Chicago tower to their campus in Hoffman Estates, a suburb of Chicago. The collection was curated throughout the height of the 1970’s, a period when art and life merged, resulting in an emphasis on thought-provoking conceptual and postmodernist theories.
True to the movement, the collection focuses on local, regional and international artists. In this selection, discover woodcuts by Jacques Hnizdovsky, serigraphs by Richard Anuszkiewicz and Julian Stanczak, as well as a painting by Martyl Langsdof, designer of the Doomsday Clock.
