Originally built in 1889 for Thomas McIlvain as a showstopper, the historic house had fallen into disrepair over the years. The current owner fell in love with the majestic estate decades ago, keeping in touch with the owners before finally purchasing the home in 2015. Extensive repairs throughout the home were necessary to bring the Victorian Queen Anne beauty back to its original glory. The tenacious owner went to the extent of purchasing stained glass portrait windows, depicting the wife and daughter of the builder, back from several antique dealers in Portland, Oregon to reinstall them in their original locations. The home now proudly resides on the National Register of Historic Places, filled with unique treasures.
