Brad and his wife of three years Abbey were high school sweethearts and even attended the University of Louisville together and obtained biomedical engineering degrees. After college they were offered jobs at Cook Medical and moved to Bloomington, Indiana. Brad and Abbey love to travel and in November enjoyed nine-day trip out west and had a wonderful time hiking, canoeing and overall exploring. Brad felt great and never showed a sign that something was wrong. However, the day they arrived home, the lives of Brad and his family changed forever.
Fast forward to today Brad is undergoing his ninth round of chemo. He is responding to treatment and we are hopeful that he might just win this battle. He faces a very extensive surgery called HIPEC, which they call the mother of all surgeries. It is 10 to 12 hours long and will take him two to three months to fully recover from, but it is the best option for treatment Brad has. Brad’s brother Ryan started calling his fight the Battle for Brad and it stuck!
Needless to say, all of the chemo treatments, scans, blood work, genetic testing, second opinions, and surgeries can be very expensive. Brad will be having surgery in Chicago around the first of May and must stay in the hospital at least ten days. Your bid can help give Brad the best chance at a very long and happy life.
