In Cincinnati, when you hear the name Vince Re, there is an instant association to his panoramic photographs of the city. His spectacular portraits of Cincinnati grace countless publications and collections," noted an article in a magazine for the Amvets of Ohio. Born in Cincinnati in 1925, Vince Re enlisted in the Army Air Corp after the attack on Pearl Harbor, serving as a top turret gunner on a B-24 Liberator during WWII. Upon his return to Cincinnati after the war, Re founded Business Machines, Inc with a fellow veteran, and was an avid attendee of reunions for the 467th Bombardment Group. He frequently photographed those reunions, as well as other local events. Some of his most cherished photographs appear in this sale: the Cincinnati skyline, the annual WEBN fireworks celebration, the 467th unit’s reunions, and the reunions of the Doolittle Raiders, which he attended with his business partner who was a member.
