Proud of his Italian roots, seller Joe Bellezzo so relished his trips to Italy that upon return, he invested in Sanford Sherman photography of ruins and historical sites — from Palermo to Florence. Equally enamored of horses – a fondness that stemmed from time living in Texas, Bellezzo was fortunate enough to meet foremost bronze sculptor Tom Moss on a trip to Kerrville, and has since collected the artist’s pieces depicting horses and scenes from cowboy life. “Tom never makes more than 30 pieces from one cast,” explains Bellezzo. “The biggest in the sale, called ‘Red River Crossing,’ was one he kindly held onto for me until I was ready to buy it. A member of the Bush family also has one.” Rounding out his art collection are western lithographs from Nancy Glazier, bronze sculptures from Larry Gay, and a Paul McCartney-signed copy of Time Magazine — every piece in mint condition.
