The owner of this extraordinary collection is a porcelain restorer and antique expert, having worked at such well-regarded establishments, as the Cincinnati Art Museum, the Taft Museum, Old World Restorations, as well as at many private homes. Her skilled expertise and astute eye are evident in the breadth and depth of the offerings, which include such fabulous treasures as fancy chairs decorated by Itinerant painters, a Meek’s Brothers c.1850 Gothic chair which matches one the Metropolitan Museum has in their Gothic Revival Room, Quaker-made antiques from the owner’s great grandfather, Regency, Empire and Victorian antiques, as well as many paintings of the period ranging from the primitive to a European painting of Queen Victoria’s step sister, and many paintings from the mid Victorian period,with water colors and oil castle paintings and a collection of porcelain objects to include English soft paste, Meissen, Luster ware (Copper and Pink Lustre), Japanese porcelains with Imari and Chinese export porcelains. Flow Blue complete set of china, Havilland Limoge, Waterford crystal, silver plate as well as sterling silver items. Many primitive fireplace cooking utensils, Shaker style chairs, trunks of the Civil War, with the contents which include a brass powder horn, cup and 3-pronged bone forks and knives, and a bayonet from the Revolutionary war,a pre-Civil War calvary sword and scabbard, and many Federal and Empire reverse painting on glass courting mirrors, along with one large 3-panel over mantel Federal mirror with eglomise on glass.
