This offering is a joint fund-raiser for Heritage Village Museum located in Sharon Woods and The National Society of Colonial Dames of America (NSCDA) in Ohio. These two organizations are dedicated to the collection and preservation of significant buildings pertinent to the Greater Cincinnati area and historical artifacts that illuminate our history. These collections provide a platform for education and research into the history of our community.
Heritage Village Museum is home to twelve historic structures moved from their original sites. These include a house moved from South Lebanon, a church moved from Somerset (which is a site of many a wedding today), and a train station from Clifton Avenue. Open for tours, classes, and exhibits, the Village hosts hundreds of school children, old-time baseball games, Civil War re-enactors, and even a headless horseman.
The NSCDA in Ohio owns the Kemper House and stone kitchen with vegetable garden located at Heritage Village. Also owned by the NSCDA is the Betts House located in downtown Cincinnati which offers exhibits and summer educational programs. The NSCDA in Ohio, through the Alter Fund, supports the annual Decorative Arts Lecture and exhibits pieces at the Cincinnati Art Museum.
These two organizations are dedicated to living history, preservation, and educational offerings which enrich our city.
EBTH is excited to support these organizations and present this sale with a range of fine pieces from art, jewelry, decorative pieces, furniture, sterling silver and more. Sale items are located within Sharon Woods at the Heritage Village Hayner House. Sharon Woods entrance fees are $3.00 for a daily pass or $10.00 for an annual pass. Alternate pickup can be arranged for items other than furniture, for the standard handling fee.
