A vintage photo album from the 1920s -1930s originating from the estate of Phil Lyon. There are over seventy-five original black and white photographs contained in this album including such famous individuals as woman aviator pioneer Amelia Earhart; 1920s collegiate football stars from the Big Ten and other schools such as Illinois, Wisconsin, Ohio State, Purdue, Pittsburgh, Iowa, Michigan, Nebraska, Wabash, Army, Syracuse, Washington, and Colorado. Photographs of General John Pershing; Broadway tenor Howard Marsh; Paul Whiteman’s Band; lyricist Otto Harbach; playwright Avery Hopwood; and silent film actress Colleen Moore are also featured in this album. Several Major League baseball player greats from the Chicago Cubs and the Philadelphia Athletics such as Rogers Hornsby, Hack Wilson, Charlie Grimm, Jimmie Foxx, Walt French, and Mickey Cochrane are presented in this vintage album. ‘Tee’ Young, the 1924 Ohio State football captain, signed his photo which is personalized to Phil. Other photos feature signatures but none have been professionally authenticated. The Calvin Coolidge presidential signature on the inside front cover has been verified as a secretarial signature by a third party authenticator.
