A seventeen-volume set of Carleton’s New Illustrated Edition of Works of Charles Dickens. The hardback books are bound in dark green cloth covered boards with impressed ornamentation to the front and back covers with gilt lettering and decorations to the spine (G.W. Carleton & Co., Publishers, London, 1880-81). Each volume features a tissue-guarded frontispiece with black and white illustrations throughout the text.
