French Tulle M1822 Percussion Conversion Pistol, Early to Mid 19th Century
Item Details
A French cavalry M1822 percussion flintlock conversion pistol from the Tulle arsenal, manufactured in the early to mid nineteenth century. The piece features a wood stock with brass fittings and includes a ramrod. The lockplate is engraved ‘Mre. Rle. de Tulle’ and the barrel is marked ‘MR’ to one side and ‘Cde 17.6’ to the other. The brass barrel fitting is marked with a crown over a C and there are other worn and illegible marks noted. The stock has been personalized with the carved initials ‘LH’.
