Item Details
A pair of antique Minton cabinet plates for Tiffany & Co. of New York. The hand-painted pieces depict portraits of brunette women after 18th century English artists bordered by gold encrusted verges in repeating beaded panels. Lady Elizabeth Compton is after Sir Joshua Reynolds while Mrs Beaufoy is after Thomas Gainsborough, both originally oil on canvas ca. 1780. The plates were made in England and bear the ‘Mintons’ maker’s mark ca. 1912 above ‘Tiffany & Co. New York.’

- both plates have hairline cracks, more easily seen on the back;
- both plates have scratches to the paint.
