A 1947 Chevrolet Fleetmaster luxury sport sedan featuring the GM Chevrolet 216 straight 6 cylinder in-line engine with naturally aspirated carburetor and spark ignition. This three owner car is #50,305 of a total of 91,440 built in 1947 in the Norwood, Ohio plant with the engine being built in GM’s Baltimore, Maryland plant. This classic vehicle has the original three speed, ‘three on the tree’, vacuum shift, was sold by Bobb Chevrolet in Columbus, Ohio and is one of only four in this body style remaining in Ohio. This Fleetmaster has unique and rare options including tire air filler, rear window wiper, General Motors Casco red cat’s eye cigar/cigarette lighter, dual backup lights, and illuminated Hull compass. This model is also equipped with a ‘deluxe’ radio, which is fully functioning, a ‘deluxe’ under-seat heater, under-dash ‘deluxe’ heater, fold-down rear trunk guard, vent window screens, General Motors windshield washer on the firewall, front and rear bumper guards and bumpers in chrome finish, and front and rear bumper extensions. Also included are stainless steel wheel discs, windshield visor, and rare Fulton side window shields in chrome finish. The exterior also features large amber glass fog lamps, chrome finish headlight visors, dual spotlights, chrome finish body trim accents and ‘curb feelers’ to the front and rear.
The interior has bench seats to the front and rear with light blue, tan and cream striped seat covers with a blue diamond stitched pattern to the top, walnut dashboard with analog clock and chrome finish accents to the gas, battery and temperature gauges. The vehicle has a cream toned steering wheel with complimentary brown steering knob, matching cream radio buttons, tuner, volume, choke knob and light knobs.
This well maintained vehicle was a part of the Voice of America decommissioning ceremony in 1997, won a bronze award at the Vintage Chevrolet Club of America’s Central Meet in August of 2001 and covered in the club’s publication Generator and Distributor in November of 2002. This vehicle also won second place in the 2010 Sharonville Car Show in the 1940’s category and first place in the same show in 2011 for the Pre-1950’s category.

Condition
- paint finish issue to the right front fender, light rust and corrosion issues to the chromed grill, water staining and damage to the interior of the passenger and driver’s side doors, wear to the wood finish on the interiors of the doors at the window, light scratches noted.
