A circa 1881 Steinway & Sons grand piano, serial number 45192. This black lacquer grand piano is marked “Steinway & Sons, New York, Hamburg,” an openwork music rack, three brass pedals; and includes a button-tufted upholstered bench. Please note that the piano was completely restored in 2002, the work including soundboard, pinblock, strings, key tops, Renner Action and has been regularly tuned twice a year since restored. Complete Action Regulation was performed in 2015. The piano has a growling bass, and middle,treble sections are so clear, overtones have great color and character. Typical of this era this piano has 85 keys, the chromatic keys have the original ebony wood of the period.
