A vintage German 800 silver flatware service for twelve by Rostfrei Solingen. The flatware features fiddle and thread handles with small scroll motif at the ends, housed in a flatware storage case with tarnish resistant lining. Also included are a Christofle Chinon silver plate sauce ladle and fish serving fork. The Rostfrei set is quite comprehensive, with 141 pieces including twelve each of hollow-handled dinner knives (9.50’), hollow-handled luncheon knives (8.25’), hollow-handled fruit knives, large butter knives (8.25’), dinner forks, luncheon forks, salad forks, fruit/dessert forks, teaspoons, large oval soup spoons, tablespoons, teaspoons, and demitasse spoons. Also included are seven serving pieces including sugar tongs, serving spoons, a ladle pickle fork and pastry server. The pieces are marked “800” with the maker’s logo and the German national crescent moon Reichsmark and crown mark, indicating a minimum of 800 silver purity. The flatware weighs approximately 165.045 ozt, with the exclusion of the thirty-six hollow-handled knives with stainless steel blades.
