A landscape oil painting on canvas depicting a glimpse of a cottage through the trees by Thomas Churchyard, circa 1860.
Thomas Churchyard (Suffolk, England 1798-1865) attended Dedham Grammer School as a boarder where artist John Constable had attended earlier and often returned to sketch. He was trained and worked as a lawyer but his real love was landscape painting.
