Gorham "Strasbourg" Sterling Silver Flatware in Chest
Item Details
A selection of sterling silver flatware by Gorham in the popular Strasbourg pattern. The pattern was designed by William C. Codman and introduced in 1897. The pieces feature a scrolled handle with shell accent at the tip. Also included is a three-piece carving set with sterling silver handles and no maker’s mark. There are sixty-three pieces in the Gorham set, including ten each of dinner forks, salad forks, teaspoons and hollow-handled dinner knives. There are also eight soup spoons, eight butter knives, a hollow-handled master butter knife, two serving spoons, a cheese server, ladle, sugar spoon and olive fork. The approximate weight of the flatware, not including all hollow-handled items with non-sterling materials, is 65.530 ozt.
