G.W. Coffin Co. Buckeye Foundry Large Bell, Mid 19th Century
Item Details
An antique George Washington Coffin Company Buckeye Foundry large school house bell, cast in Cincinnati, Ohio between 1848 and 1865. Across the top of the bell is a band of scrolled foliate relief beneath figures of Greco-Roman influence. The bell bears ‘Buckeye Foundry,’ ‘G.W. Coffin.’ and ‘Cincinnati’ to the exterior. Housed in a cast iron holder and affixed to a wood stand.

- bell yoke and ringer are not included, dust to surface from storage, splits to wood base from age, nails wedged between bell and holder.
