Brevettato Italian Garniture Imperial Clock Set
Item Details
A vintage Brevettato gilt bronze garniture set from Italy. The set features an ornate Imperial mantel clock featuring an urn finial on a cobalt porcelain urn with a tableau garden scene and hand applied gold lustre detailing. The urn has applied floral handles to either side, resting above the arched clock case. The clock case has a reticulated cast brass arch with arched foliate details to either side. The clock face has Roman numeral hour markers with reticulated hands and two key arbors, marked ‘Imperial’. Below the face is a repeat of the upper tableau scene. Flanking the scene are elaborately cast columns with torch and scrolled casting to either side. The verso has a door to access the Franz Hermle works, and the clock rests on six raised feet. A brass winding key is included. With the clock are a pair of matching girandoles with similar tableau scenes on cobalt porcelain urns with gold lustre details, five candle capitals on each girandole, and orb detailing at the raised base.
