1930s Polychrome Hopi Tall Neck Coil Built Jar
Item Details
A polychrome Hopi tall neck jar, circa 1930s-1940s. The large vessel features hand-painted spiral and rectilinear slip designs in black and red-brown oxide set to a cream slip background. The vase has an unidentified pictorial maker’s mark to the underside that appears to be a bear, but is obscured by wear.

- to fair; markings and discoloration to the slip at the neck and shoulders with some missing slip at rim and throughout body; residue to the interior of the rim, pictorial maker’s mark to the underside is obscured from scratching and wear to the underside.
