A quadruple silver-plated mechanical butter dish by the Rockford Silver Plate Company, active from 1882 until 1925 in Rockford, Illinois. This Aesthetic Movement style butter dish features a raisable domed lid, embossed floral and foliate motif designs throughout, scrolled openwork accents, and a footed base. It is marked to its underside, ‘Rockford Silver P. Co. Quadruple 1651’.
