Towle Sterling Silver "Contour" Flatware Set in Vintage "Cameo" Flatware Case

A set of sterling silver flatware by Towle in the Contour pattern housed in a vintage Marshall White Cameo celluloid flatware box. The flatware pattern was produced between 1950 and 1996 and has a mid-century modern style with a tapered and contoured design. The set includes a total of sixty-seven pieces in the Towle pattern, a bonus sterling silver spoon and three silver plate pieces. There are twelve each of hollow-handled table knives, dinner forks, salad forks, teaspoons, and soup spoons. Also included are a serving spoon and serving fork, salad servers with black plastic bowls, a hollow-handled butter knife, pickle fork, and sugar spoon. A sterling silver sugar spoon in a different pattern plus three silver plated serving pieces finish the assortment. The total approximate weight of the sterling silver flatware pieces, excluding the hollow-handled knives, is 83.595 ozt. The set is housed in a vintage ivory-colored celluloid Cameo flatware chest lined with “Pacific Silver Cloth”. The chest features an embossed urn and scroll pattern to the top with an embossed foliate border. The lid opens to reveal storage area for flatware. The box is labeled to the interior “Lined with Pacific Silver Cloth”, and “Cameo Chest of Distinction The Marshall White Co., Chicago”.
