Item Details
A finely hand-knotted Chinese Aubusson style carved wool rug. This rug is rendered in a palette of aqua, ivory, pink, mauve, rust, tan, green, and beige. The aqua hued field begins with an oval medallion infilled and surrounded with an abundance of floral motifs, along with a frame of leaf forms. Flower swags are also featured on to the field, as well as flower filled vases that protrude from the border. The main border is ornately designed with corner medallions, as well as scrolling foliate motifs, and blooms. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a cotton warp fringe to the ends with a kilim skirt. It is unlabeled.
