Hand-Knotted Persian Archaeological Kashmar Area Rug

Item Details

A hand-knotted Persian Kashmar Archaeological wool area rug. The rug is rendered in a brightly colored palette of bright pinks, orange, indigo, light blue, navy, orange, and tan. The carpet has a large diamond shaped floral-filled center medallion on a large rectangular field populated with foliate scrolls, stylized florals, and bowl and vase motif contrasted with avian themed corner spandrels. The rug is wrapped with a large primary border decorated with ornate vases, bowls, and vessels with birds medallions to the corners. The rug is finished with short natural warp fringe to each end.

Condition

- minor but visible wear to the wool; freckling, exposed knots.
