A semi-antique hand-knotted Persian Malayer room sized rug. This wool pile rug is rendered in tones of red, pink, green, medium blue, midnight blue, brown, and ivory. It commences with a floral medallion haloed with sprays of bouquets and flanked by intricate palmette pendants. The lozenge field is populated with racemes and foliage, and extends to corner spandrels delineated with purling vines. Framing the field are reciprocal and floral meander guard borders, while the primary border displays a palmette grounded pattern over midnight blue. The rug is finished with overcast selvedges and wool warp fringe. It is unlabeled.
