Hand-Knotted Persian Khamseh Wool Rug
Item Details
A hand-knotted Persian Khamseh wool rug. This rug is rendered in a palette of tan, ivory, light green, beige, blue, hot pink, and brown. The tan hued field begins with a stepped medallion ending in arrow pendants over a stylized lattice pattern. Enclosing the lozenge shaped field is a beige colored ground infilled with corner medallions, boteh forms, and rosettes. Framing the field as a whole is a main stylized rose vine border over a blue ground, as well as a pair of carnation meander guard borders. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a wool warp fringe to the ends. It is unlabeled.
