RARE John A. Ruthven Artist's Proof

An original limited edition photo offset lithography print by extremely well listed Ohioan wildlife artist John A. Ruthven (b.1924). The print is double signed plate and pencil at the bottom right-hand corner is signified at the lower left-hand corner, as the second artist’s proof, making this print extremely rare and extremely desirable from the collector’s standpoint. At the bottom of the print is the artist’s personal inscription which reads, ‘To my good friend Victor Koloding.’ The print is entitled ‘Cardinals,’ and features a trio of the striking birds hanging out in a tree. The print is framed in a wooden frame with red paint and bronze colored gilt, with a single raised clothe mat to edge.

Wear to frame edge, could benefit from a light cleaning.
