A pair of oil paintings on canvas by artist Oscar Murillo (Mexico/America; 1940- 2017). These pieces feature bright blue compositions with coordinating puzzle-like forms rendered in a deep green. The artist’s estate stamp is present to the verso of each painting.

Oscar Murillo was a prominent figure in the 1960s and 1970s Los Angeles art scene. Born in Mexico, he immigrated to the United States and settled permanently in the San Fernando Valley. He studied at San Fernando Valley State College (known today as Cal State Northridge) and received his Bachelors and Masters of Fine Arts. Murillo remained active in his community, teaching art and exhibiting his art in galleries in San Fernando Valley, CA and Santé Fe, NM.
