A hand-knotted Indo-Persian Bakhtiari silk room sized rug. This rug is rendered in a palette of pink, light blue, camel, olive, navy, ivory, brown, and pale yellow. The field features a rectangular paneled design each featuring a single mihrab infilled with ornate foliage and floral motifs, along with cypress trees, willow trees, or columns. The predominantly pink field is framed in a main paneled border with coordinating design elements found in the field. Framing the field and panels are floral strips and minor borders. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedge and a silk warp fringe to the ends. It is partially labeled with ‘India’ stated.
