A hand-knotted Chinese carved wool area rug. This rug is rendered in a palette of saffron, ivory, camel, sage, rose, mauve, sky blue, and rust. The sculpted saffron colored field begins with an oval medallion infilled and surrounded by blooms, and enclosed by more floral and foliate motifs. Framing the field is a floating ivory grounded floral and foliate border with medallions at each corner. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a cotton warp fringe to the ends. It is unlabeled.
