An oil painting on canvas by listed contemporary artist Frédéric Bonin Pissarro (France; born 1964). This impressionist style painting depicts a busy outdoor cafe, rendered in broad, loose brushwork and a vibrant palette. The work is signed to the lower right and is housed in a gold-tone wood frame.

Frédéric Pissarro, the great grandson of renowned French Impressionist Camille Pissarro 1830 – 1903), was born and raised in Paris, France. He first studied painting with his father before attending the Ecole de Sèvres from 1983 – 1984, and then the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-arts (ENSBA) from 1984 – 1988, where he studied with Jacques Yankel
(France; 1920 – 2004) and Antonio Segui (Argentina; born 1934). After his schooling he settled in Cincinnati, Ohio, where he taught at the Art Institute of Cincinnati, and then went on to receive a Bachelor and a Masters of Arts from Morehead State University in Kentucky. Pissaro incorporates elements of fauvism and neo-impressionism into his colorful abstract works which he refers to as ‘expressive figurative’.
