A 1969 Orville Carroll watercolor painting of an angel titled, Eros at Pompeii. The artwork is painted in muted palette of sand, sage green, peach and brown. It is titled and dated ‘May 1969’ to upper margin and signed to lower right. The watercolor is presented under glass with double green mats in green painted wooden frame. It has a wire to the verso, ready to hang. Kentucky/Indiana artist Orville Carroll (American, 1912 – 1978) was recognized for WPA landscapes and murals, after graduating from the Louisville Art Center.
